8 young people arrested for knife attack on 16-year-old in Madrid

Madrid, April 25.

Police officers have arrested eight young people linked to the Dominican Don't Play youth gang for a knife attack on a 16-year-old boy in front of a nightclub in the Carabanchel district of Madrid on February 19.

The arrests were made on April 19 and two of the those detained were minors, all of whom were linked to Dominican Don't Play. They are accused of attempted murder and belonging to a criminal organisation.

Six of the eight people arrested, all of whom are adults, were sent to prison after appearing in court.

The attack took place at approximately 6am on February 19, when the group of young people allegedly stabbed the 16-year-old boy four times with a knife. The victim was stabilised, sedated and taken to the Hospital 12 de Octubre in serious condition.

The crime occurred outside a nightclub on Calle Santa Saturnina in Madrid, where the police were called to reports of a fight between numerous people. Upon arrival, they found a 16-year-old boy with several knife wounds.

As a result, the Provincial Information Brigade took over the investigation and after numerous inquiries, managed to identify all members of the aggressor group who were arrested as part of the operation.

Following the attack, police identified the main lines of investigation as being an inter-gang conflict or a personal dispute, as the victim's partner was reportedly linked to one of the attackers.
